Question 1

How much does it cost to become a member?

Accepted Answer

Pro membership is free once you're approved. Optional Featured and Premium subscription upgrades are paid. When you are booked through PetWorks, we withhold 15% as a booking fee (e.g. on a $100 booking, you receive $85). For deposit-and-balance custom quotes and larger bookings, the combined booking fee is 15% on the first $1,000 + 3% on every dollar over $1,000.

Question 2

How does the booking process work?

Accepted Answer

Here is a helpful YouTube video which is a great tutorial explaining the PetWorks platform booking process.

Question 3

When do I get paid?

Accepted Answer

When a pet parent pays - whether they book a package or pay a custom quote - their card is charged through Stripe and your earnings are paid out to your bank automatically. Funds often arrive within a few business days; your first payout may take longer while Stripe verifies your account. Premium members with instant payouts may receive funds sooner.

Question 4

How do pet parents pay me?

Accepted Answer

Once you enroll in online payments, pet parents book you online using Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Affirm, and Klarna. Our payments are powered by Stripe.

Question 5

What geographic areas does PetWorks cover?

Accepted Answer

PetWorks is a nationwide platform, with pet professionals listed across the United States and Canada. When pet parents want to find a pet pro, they simply choose a category and explore the list of purr-fessionals near them!

Question 6

What are the paw-sitives of listing with PetWorks?

Accepted Answer

By joining our pet lovin' community, you get to promote your business and build relationships with pet parents and pet care service professionals who share your love of animals! Most importantly - pet parents will find, book, and pay you on the PetWorks platform. Your pet care business will grow!

Question 7

How do pet parents find PetWorks?

Accepted Answer

Mostly Google and ChatGPT. A pet parent searches for what they need - "pet transport to Florida", "animal chiropractor near me" - and a PetWorks category or listing page comes up, or they ask an AI assistant to help them find a pro and it sends them here. Either way they arrive already looking to hire, which is why your photos, your description, and your reviews do so much of the work once they land on your listing.

Question 8

Can I join PetWorks without using your payment system?

Accepted Answer

You cannot list your pet care services with PetWorks without enrolling in our payment system.

Question 9

What if you don't have my category?

Accepted Answer

If your unique service is missing from our website, please email us and let us know what you're all about! In the meantime, you can always create a listing under the 'Other Pet Specialities' category. This category holds some of our most unique pet services that may not be as well known or frequently used - but that doesn't make them any less special!

Question 10

Can I create a listing if I'm not in the U.S.?

Accepted Answer

Yes, if you're in Canada! We currently welcome pet pros and pet parents in the United States and Canada. For this reason, we're only looking for pet lovers in the U.S. and Canada to join us (for now!)

Question 11

Where is PetWorks based?

Accepted Answer

The PetWorks platform is nationwide, but our corporate offices are in Westport, Connecticut.
