The breed

The Bloodhound is a large, powerful scent hound with a loose-skinned, wrinkled face, long drooping ears, and soulful eyes. Its coat is short and dense, commonly seen in black and tan, liver and tan, or red. The breed has a deep chest, sturdy legs, and a distinctive solemn expression that reflects its historic role as a tracking dog.

Bloodhounds are generally gentle, affectionate, and patient, often forming strong bonds with their families. They are famous for their exceptional sense of smell and can become intensely focused when following an interesting scent. Their independent, determined nature may make them seem stubborn at times, but they are usually friendly and good-natured companions.

Are you looking for a determined scent-tracking companion for outdoor searches? Consider a Bloodhound for this role.
