Borzoi

The breed

The Borzoi is a tall, elegant sighthound with a long, narrow head, deep chest, and graceful, flowing outline. Its silky coat is usually medium to long and may be flat, wavy, or slightly curly, often with feathering on the legs, tail, and neck. Borzois come in many colors and patterns, giving each dog a distinctive appearance.

In temperament, Borzois are often gentle, quiet, and dignified. They tend to be affectionate with familiar people but may seem reserved around strangers. Like other sighthounds, they are alert to movement and can show strong interest in chasing fast-moving animals. Indoors, many are calm and enjoy resting near their family.
