Miniature Dachshund

The breed

The Miniature Dachshund is a small, long-bodied dog with short legs, a deep chest, and an alert expression. Its smooth, longhaired, or wirehaired coat comes in many colors and patterns. Despite its compact size, it has a sturdy build and a distinctive silhouette that makes the breed easy to recognize.

Miniature Dachshunds are often lively, curious, and affectionate with their families. They can be bold and determined, reflecting their history as small hunting dogs. Many are playful and entertaining companions, though they may also be independent or vocal. Their confident personality is often much larger than their small frame.
