The breed

Golden Retrievers are medium-to-large sporting dogs with a sturdy, balanced build and a friendly expression. Their most recognizable feature is a dense, water-repellent double coat in shades of gold, ranging from pale cream to deep golden. They have feathering on the chest, legs, tail, and underside, along with soft drop ears and dark, expressive eyes.

They are widely known for their gentle, eager-to-please temperament. Golden Retrievers are typically affectionate, sociable, and patient with people, often enjoying family activities and companionship. They are intelligent and enthusiastic, with a playful nature that commonly lasts well into adulthood. Their cheerful, dependable disposition has made them one of the best-known retriever breeds.
