The breed

The Greyhound is a tall, elegant sighthound with a slim, aerodynamic build made for speed. It has a long, narrow head, deep chest, tucked waist, and powerful legs. Its short, smooth coat comes in many colors and patterns, including black, fawn, brindle, white, and combinations of these. Greyhounds are best known for their remarkable sprinting ability and graceful, flowing movement.

Despite their athletic appearance, Greyhounds are often calm and quiet indoors. They tend to be gentle, affectionate, and sensitive companions, usually forming close bonds with their families. Many are reserved around strangers but are rarely noisy or overly excitable. Their strong instinct to chase moving animals reflects their history as sight hunters, while their relaxed, dignified nature makes them distinctive among dog breeds.

Are you looking for a calm companion that enjoys relaxing at home after a good run? Consider a Greyhound for this easygoing role.
