The breed
The German Shorthaired Pointer is a medium-to-large sporting dog with a lean, athletic build and an alert, noble expression. Its short, dense coat is usually liver-colored or liver-and-white, often with ticking, roan patterning, or patches. Long, broad ears frame the head, while the body is powerful and streamlined for speed and endurance.
German Shorthaired Pointers are energetic, intelligent, and enthusiastic dogs known for their strong sporting instincts. They are often affectionate and loyal with their families, while remaining alert and eager to explore. Their confidence, curiosity, and willingness to work make them lively companions with a bright, responsive nature.
