Brussels Griffon

The breed

The Brussels Griffon is a small, sturdy toy dog with a distinctive almost human-like expression. It has a short muzzle, large dark eyes, and a compact body. Its coat may be rough and wiry or smooth and glossy, appearing in colors such as red, black, black and tan, or belge. The rough-coated variety often has a noticeable beard and eyebrows.

Brussels Griffons are alert, affectionate, and full of personality. They tend to form strong bonds with their favorite people and often enjoy being involved in household activities. Their playful, curious nature can be balanced by a confident, sometimes determined streak. Though small, they are often lively and expressive, making them memorable companion dogs.
