The breed

Saint Bernards are giant, powerful dogs with broad heads, expressive dark eyes, and a gentle, dignified presence. Their thick double coats may be short or long and are usually white with red, brown, or brindle markings. They have sturdy bodies, large paws, and a recognizable pendulous muzzle, giving them a soft, friendly expression despite their impressive size.

In temperament, Saint Bernards are typically calm, affectionate, and patient. They are known for being devoted companions and often have a tolerant, gentle nature around people. Though they can appear reserved with strangers at first, they are generally friendly and good-natured once comfortable. Their calm disposition and imposing appearance make them memorable, affectionate family dogs.

Are you looking for a calm, giant companion with a history of mountain rescue work? Consider a Saint Bernard for that role.
