The breed

The Otterhound is a large, distinctive scent hound with a rough, shaggy double coat that often appears tousled and weather-resistant. It has a broad head, long folded ears, deep chest, and strong, webbed feet that reflect its history as a water-loving hunting dog. Coat colors vary widely, including grizzle, wheaten, black and tan, and mixed patterns.

Otterhounds are generally friendly, cheerful, and independent-minded. They are known for their powerful sense of smell, enthusiasm for exploring, and playful nature. Often affectionate with family and sociable with other dogs, they can also be determined and easily distracted by interesting scents. Their unusual appearance and warm, boisterous personality give them a memorable charm.

Are you looking for an energetic scent hound to join you on long outdoor adventures? Consider the Otterhound for that role.
