The breed

The Komondor is a large, powerful Hungarian livestock guardian known for its remarkable white, corded coat. Its long, felt-like locks can make it resemble a moving mop, while its sturdy body, broad head, and dark eyes give it an imposing but distinctive appearance. Puppies begin with a softer, wavy coat that gradually forms cords as they mature.

In temperament, the Komondor is calm, confident, and highly protective of its home and family. Bred to watch over livestock independently, it is naturally alert and can be reserved with unfamiliar people. It is usually devoted and affectionate with those it knows, combining quiet dignity with a strong, watchful presence.

Are you looking for a large guardian to watch over your home or property? Consider a Komondor for this protective role.
