The breed

The Finnish Spitz is a medium-sized, foxlike dog with a square build, pointed ears, and a curled tail carried over its back. Its dense double coat is usually golden-red to reddish brown, often with lighter cream markings on the chest, underside, and tail. Bright, alert eyes and an animated expression give the breed a lively, distinctive look.

Known for its cheerful, intelligent nature, the Finnish Spitz is often energetic, curious, and strongly aware of its surroundings. It is traditionally a vocal hunting dog and may be quick to bark when excited or noticing something unfamiliar. Affectionate with its family and spirited in personality, it tends to be independent yet engaging, with a playful, confident character.

Are you looking for a lively hunting companion that will alert you to activity outdoors? Consider a Finnish Spitz for this active, watchful role.
