The breed

Australian Shepherds are medium-sized, athletic herding dogs with a balanced, sturdy build. Their coats are medium length and weather-resistant, often appearing in blue merle, red merle, black, or red, usually with white markings and copper points. They may have naturally bobbed or longer tails, and their expressive eyes can be brown, blue, amber, or even different colors.

Known for intelligence and alertness, Australian Shepherds are energetic, focused, and highly responsive dogs. They often form strong bonds with their families and can be affectionate, playful, and eager to participate in activities. Their herding background may show in a watchful, observant nature and a tendency to notice movement around them.

Are you looking for an active partner for hiking, training, or farm work? Consider an Australian Shepherd for that kind of busy, engaging life.
