Meet the Children of Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift Cats

Taylor Swift, known as the “august” singer, proudly cherishes her role as a pet parent…Taylor Swift cats…

…are three charming feline companions: Meredith Grey, Olivia Benson, and Benjamin Button. Her affection for them is evident and endearing. Taylor Swift cats are all the rage. Let’s learn more about the self-proclaimed “Childless Cat Lady”…

Swift has always been unreserved about integrating her cats into her public persona…

…and her fans adore her for it. All three of her cats have made frequent appearances on her social media platforms, and have even starred in some of her music videos. Named after Taylor’s favorite TV and movie characters, these rock star pets even graced her 2020 holiday card – adorned in delightful winter attire with similar imagery from the singer’s ‘folklore’ album that year.

The Grammy-winning artist has humorously stated that her cherished cats…

…have had a positive impact on her career. In 2019, she shared with TIME, “I have cats. I’m obsessed with them. I love my cats so much that when a role came up in a movie called ‘Cats,’ I was just like, I gotta do this.” In fact, Swift attended a “cat school” to prepare for her role on set. Swift has openly discussed her deep affinity for cats on several occasions, explaining to TIME, “They’re very dignified. They’re independent. They’re very capable of dealing with their own life.”

Meredith Grey: The OG Feline

Named after the iconic character from the TV show Grey’s Anatomy, Meredith Grey was the first cat to join Taylor’s household. Meredith, a Scottish Fold, is known for her adorable round face and folded ears, which are characteristic of the breed. Taylor adopted Meredith in 2011, and the cat quickly became a fan favorite. Meredith’s laid-back personality and photogenic appearance have made her a star on Taylor’s Instagram, often seen lounging around in various cozy spots. Despite her fame, Meredith seems to prefer the quiet life, often opting to stay out of the limelight compared to her more extroverted siblings.

Olivia Benson: The Playful One

Following Meredith, Olivia Benson, another Scottish Fold, entered Taylor’s life in 2014. Named after the beloved character from Law & Order: SVU, Olivia is known for her playful and curious nature. Unlike Meredith, Olivia seems to enjoy the spotlight, often seen in videos and photos being active, whether it’s batting at a toy or exploring new surroundings. Olivia’s lively personality has even landed her a role in some of Taylor’s projects, including the “ME!” music video, where she appeared alongside Taylor and Brendon Urie. Olivia’s playful antics and charming demeanor have made her a hit among fans, who adore watching her adventures on social media.

Benjamin Button: The Newest Addition

In 2019, Taylor introduced the world to her third cat, Benjamin Button, a Ragdoll breed. Benjamin’s story is unique because he was discovered on the set of Taylor’s “ME!” music video. He was part of a scene with Taylor and Brendon Urie, and it was love at first sight for the singer. Taylor decided to adopt him right away, and Benjamin has been living the good life ever since. Known for his striking blue eyes and fluffy coat, Benjamin brings a different energy to the group with his affectionate and gentle nature. He’s often seen snuggling with Taylor, showcasing the strong bond they share.

Taylor Swift’s Cats…and Jason

After weeks of rumors and anticipation, it’s official. Taylor Swift is dating none other than Travis Kelce, and they stepped out in town this weekend to prove it. Back in October 2023, the pair was spotted in New York City holding heads while heading to a Saturday Night Live after-party, that is, after making an appearance on the show. It didn’t take long for Swifties to start embracing all of this romance as the social media reactions were brimming with positivity.

“Taylor Swift’s career is the ultimate masterclass in storytelling, where each album is a new chapter. And her cats are the ever-curious editors who insist on a cameo in every music video. 🐱🎶” – Kevin Kinyon, Co‑Founder, Petworks

Taylor Swift ChildrenSo who takes care of Taylor Swift’s cats when she’s out on The Era’s Tour?

Rumor is that cats Meredith Grey, Olivia Benson, and Benjamin Button are watched by Taylor’s parents and professional in home pet sitters, who take great care of Taylor and Travis’ furrbabies while she’s out on tour and he’s scoring touchdowns. We have little doubt that the three cats have their own certified cat nutritionists as well. After all, this is the ‘Era’ of comprehensive pet care.

I dedicate this article to my daughter, Katie, who is an ardent Swiftie.

August 2025 Taylor Swift Update:

Taylor Swift may have faced one of her toughest challenges yet… turning Jason Kelce’s daughters into cat lovers. The 35-year-old singer joined Jason and Travis Kelce on their New Heights podcast, where Travis asked about Jason’s playful claim to his four daughters that cats are “poisonous.”

Swift said she took it as a fun mission. “As soon as I got the kids around the cats, my goal was to show them they weren’t poisonous,” she explained. “The easiest way was to hand them Benjamin, my Ragdoll cat, who loves being held like a baby.” Her efforts paid off. “My favorite thing is when Jason’s daughter Benny runs up and says, ‘I find Benjamin. I find him,’ while cuddling and petting him,” Swift shared.

The Price of Boredom

by Kathryn Cockrell, Owner of Happy Hound Pet Sitting. We’ve all experienced that moment of panic—you walk into your house and immediately know something isn’t right.  You spot your favorite book lying open on the floor with its beloved pages shredded and scattered around the entire house. The culprit? One very clueless pooch who has absolutely no idea why you’re mad. Your pup is doing his nightly happy dance surrounded by chewed up remnants of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire—happy as can be that his human finally came back home. Dog Training might be in order!

Pet Business Insurance – What Pet Owners Should Know

Are Your Paws in Protected Hands?

Pet care business insurance is something very few of us think about but really should. Whether you are a pet owner or pet care professional – making certain you are covered when something goes wrong is paramount.

Pet Care Insurance

I had the great fortune to have met the leader and pioneer in the pet business insurance industry. David Pearsall, CIC, CWCA is Vice President and Co-owner of Business Insurers of the Carolinas which is a multi-line commercial insurance agency specializing in insurance for pet service professionals since 1992. David has headed up Association Liability & Bonding Programs for the largest Pet Sitting and Dog Training Associations in the US, as well as many other national associations for over 20 years. He is a licensed insurance agent in all 50 states and has held the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) Designation and the Certified Workers Compensation Advisor (CWCA) Designation since 2002.

Among many other sponsorships, Business Insurers of the Carolinas sponsors the Pet Sitter’s International (PSI) Pet Sitter of the Year Program, the industry’s highest award. I met David during my “crowning” as they say back in early 2010 and from that point forward he has always stood out as the go-to man for questions about insurance. What makes David so genuine and unique is you would never know he’s selling insurance. He actually spends most of his time educating pet professionals (trainers, pet sitters, dog walkers, day care owners etc.) about what they can do to avoid accidents, protect themselves, the animals in their care and their client’s property.

David works closely with the pet care educational associations to bring the greatest coverage possible to both pet owners and pet care professionals while also providing resources on how to prevent accidents from occurring.

While I was initially inspired to bring insurance to the forefront of pet first aid awareness I wanted to do so from the pet owner’s perspective. While there is still so much for pet care business owners to know about, my friend and pet business consultant Bella Vasta from Jump Consulting has covered some great topics on this type of insurance that cater to the pet care professional. As a pet owner though, what the heck does pet business insurance and bonding matter to me?

As a Pet Owner, Why Does Pet Business Insurance and Bonding Matter to Me?

David and I jumped on a Skype call to discuss this very matter. Even having done research on what questions to ask and thinking I knew many of the answers – I did not. As a pet owner or owner of property in general, I learned some incredibly valuable tips to protecting me, my animals and my property. I certainly know the next time I have to call a roofer or when the water guys show up to work on my well system today – I am asking to see their insurance certificate! A good way to make an extra buck in our litigious society is to have an accident and sue, it’s sad sad fact.

Listen to This Valuable Conversation about Insurance

We covered a lot of topics pet owners and consequently – pet care providers should know about. We even covered pet insurance, not for the business but for the actual pet. It’s not anything David sells but he still recommends it as a tool to assist in coverage on certain things like diseases – which are not covered by general liability.

In our conversation David helps us understand concepts like animal bailee coverage, what being bonded is, the importance of worker’s compensation even if if a company only has 1 employee (the owner) and makes understanding insurance coverage easy. David makes talking about the topic fun – not something you would think possible about insurance!

Be Proactive Instead of Reactive

Education is the best way to prevent having to use insurance – continuing education helps keep people alert, thinking about the what if’s and preventing more accidents which lead to insurance claims. Obviously this is a natural connection to Petworks pet first aid and CPR courses but it’s a very valuable set of skills to have as a pet owner or pet care provider. By being proactive and knowing what is safe for your pets and people coming into your home, you will save yourself pain, time and stress on the back end.

Hiring a pet sitter – especially one with liability insurance and bonding obtained through an educational association – will offer you the best and most precise coverage for that pet care provider’s service. You can find hundreds of certified Pet Sitters throughout the United States, on Petworks

Bottom line – if we can limit those accidents that are pure accidents we will all save money, insurance rates will go down, bottom lines improve and the pets, the people that care for them and your property stay safer. Its a sigh of relief knowing and understanding that the person caring for your pet(s) is educated and covered by the correct insurance coverage.

If you experience an issue that you believe should result in filing a claim, first seek medical help for any humans or animals involved, then contact the insurance agency. For any questions for pet owners hiring a pet care professional using Business Insurers of the Carolinas or for pet care professionals looking to make certain they have the correct coverage, contact David at 1-800-962-4611 Ext #214, or via email at [email protected]. He’s amazingly responsive, unbelievably knowledgeable, and a fantastic asset to making our pet industry safer.
