Every day, over 2,000 pet parents visit the Petworks platform to find and book pet care service professionals. Parents let Petworks know what pet care they are seeking, and where they are located. We then show pet parents search results based upon their stated needs. But do you know how Petworks sorts our search results? Here’s how…
There are four key criteria which determine how Petworks prioritizes our search results to pet parents who are seeking pet care services:
- The Category of pet care that the pet parent is seeking. Our search results will display pet care service professionals who match that category.
- The Location – For local searches (for example, in-home pet sitting), our search results will display pet pros who are closest to the pet parent in need. For national searches (for example, animal nutrition), we do not sort by proximity, but rather, we sort using nationwide results.
- Featured Pet Care Professionals – Being a featured professional will put you at or near the top of all search results in the pet care category you service.
- Most Bookings – Petworks gives priority to our pet care service professionals who book the most on the Petworks platform. Specifically, our search algorithm uses the most recent 90 days time, and puts pros with the most bookings, closest to the top of search results, within each pet care category. We want to reward our top booking pros, while at the same time giving parents the best chances of finding and booking reliable, timely, and trusted pet care professionals for their beloveds.
The Top Line On Petworks Search Results
Petworks’ search results algorithm is designed to prioritize relevance and trust. Results are first filtered by the specific pet care category selected by the pet parent. For local services, such as in-home pet sitting, search results highlight professionals nearest to the pet parent’s location. For national services, such as animal nutrition, results are shown without regard to proximity. Featured pet care professionals receive top placement within their category. Additionally, our algorithm gives search results placement priority to those with the highest number of recent bookings, ensuring the most active and trusted pet care service providers appear at or near the top.
