Customer Reviews
Lana is an incredible trainer; knowledgeable, organized, and truly dedicated to providing value. Not only did my dog make great progress with the behaviors we worked on, but I also came away with a wealth of knowledge to continue building on. One of the main reasons I chose her is that she’s a Fear-Free Certified trainer, and it really shows in her calm, compassionate approach. She’s an absolute professional. I can’t recommend her highly enough. - Oceanside, CA - November 2025
- Nikki GLana was extremely knowledgeable and patient with me and my dog, Oscar. She helped with mat training and on-leash manners. I would recommend her services to anyone! - Oceanside, California
- Steve TI am not one to typically leave a review but our experience with Lana and Kind Dog Training was nothing short of exceptional. We added a puppy (Coco) to our family and as brand new dog owners needed help with training. Lana possesses a real ability to connect with dogs and takes the time to get to know them and the entire family. We purchased a training package and her fear-free approach yielded immediate results as after the first lesson Coco showed basic command understanding. We were further impressed with all the training handouts she provided after each lesson (with pictures) for us to reference as we practiced with Coco. In fact, after we completed the training package we purchased additional training walks with Lana to continue to build and reinforce the skills Coco learned. We’re so thankful for the guidance, communication, and compassion Lana showed to us and to Coco. If you’re looking for a knowledgeable, empathetic, and results-driven trainer. I can’t recommend Lana at Kind Dog Training enough. - Oceanside, CA - December 2025
- Dana CSwetlana is the best! Our dog loves her. We hired her for training and dog sitting. I always feel comfortable leaving him under her care and he learns something new every time! Highly recommend. - Vista, California
- Nadja HLana has changed my life with my reactive Golden Retriever. A covid puppy living in rural Texas for his first five years, he was never socialized with other dogs. After moving to a California suburb with many dogs, he has had a rough adjustment. Lana taught me strategies, tools, equipment and games to help both of us manage walks safely. Her calm, confident demeanor has instilled confidence in both me and my dog. She has a wealth of experience and we've learned SO much from her. I highly recommend her! - San Marcos, CA - January 2026

- Beverly HI have been fortunate to observe Swetlana's dog training techniques in a one-on-one session at her location and at a home visit in a multiple-animal household, where she provided methods and suggestions to help integrate a new dog with an older dog and two cats. Her dedication and sensitivity to the animals she trains are apparent in how well they respond to her. I appreciate all that I have learned from her, and the confidence she has given me to be a better steward of the animals I care for. Highly recommend. - San Francisco, CA - January 2026
- Kelly FMeet Hobie. My 16 month old Baja mutt. We also have a senior dog and two cats. Hobie was 4 months old when he joined the pack and it hasn't been easy due to some reactivity issues. We were introduced to Lana thru Acala where she had been a trainer when I needed a place to board him. Lana offers a board and train and I will be forever grateful for the introduction. Since that first boarding, Hobie spent another week there and the progress was amazing, especially his ability to walk with other dogs and ignore the kitties (well, still working on that!). I have signed up for additional training. Lana even came to our home to meet the pack and offered valuable insights to improve things for everyone. I highly recommend Kind Dog Training! - February 2026 - Oceanside, California

Recommended Certifications for Dog Trainers
When choosing a dog trainer, professional certifications are a strong indicator of expertise, experience, and commitment to ethical, science-based methods. Widely recognized credentials include the CPDT-KA or CPDT-KSA from the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers, which demonstrate mastery of modern training techniques, canine behavior, and learning theory. The KPA-CTP (Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner) highlights trainers skilled in positive reinforcement and clicker training, while the IAABC Certified Dog Trainer credential, recognized internationally, signals advanced knowledge in behavior modification and problem-solving. Membership or certification through the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT) further reflects ongoing education and adherence to ethical standards. Many trainers also pursue specialty certifications in areas such as aggression management, behavior modification, or puppy development to address specific challenges.
For pet parents, choosing a certified trainer like Swetlana Falke, ensures that your dog’s training is grounded in science, safety, and compassion. Asking about a trainer’s credentials is one of the best ways to make a confident, informed choice.
