At Family Pupz, we believe dog training is about more than basic dog obedience or correcting problem behaviors. It’s about creating a balanced, fulfilling life where you and your dog can truly thrive together.
That’s why we go beyond traditional dog training programs. We see ourselves as lifestyle builders who help dog owners create calm, well-behaved, and confident dogs at home and in real-world situations.
Our personalized dog training services focus on building harmony, communication, and trust between you and your dog. By addressing everyday challenges like leash pulling, reactivity, anxiety, and household manners, we help make dog ownership easier and more enjoyable.
Instead of teaching isolated commands like “sit” or “stay” alone, our holistic dog training approach looks at the bigger picture: your dog’s behavior, your daily routines, and the lifestyle you want to share with your dog.
Whether your goals include better obedience, improved behavior at home, or a more relaxed life with your dog, we tailor every dog training plan to support long-lasting results and real-life success.

Customer Reviews
Tanya is all-around phenomenal! I am in the veterinary field and have had a lot of exposure to dogs (and cats), but still learned so much from her sessions. She was always friendly, knowledgeable, and full of resources. She would meet at my house or a park - whatever worked best for my pup and me. By the end of our sessions, both my pup and I walked away with some quality training! I have never used a trainer before, but Tanya surpassed expectations and I will definitely use her in the future if any new doggos come into my life. 10/10! - November 2025 - Denver, Colorado
- Beth SI adopted an adult dog with likely trauma, and I was struggling with his separation anxiety. Tanya has helped me with skills to positive reinforce my dog's good behaviors, and me and my dog have both made so much improvement! I can now leave my home without worrying of destructive behaviors and incessant howling or urination. I found it very helpful to do sessions not only in my home but in the community since my goal was for my dog to be my companion in my busy life! After 5 sessions, my dog sat at a crowded brewery with me and laid down almost the whole time while ignoring other dogs. We even did a meet-and-greet with another dog in the park to help with socialization during one of our sessions. Tanya brings fun and encouragement and knowledge to every session and has helped the bond between me and my dog instead of me being frustrated with his behaviors. I couldn't be happier with all Tanya has done for me and Mitchell!
- Kathryn WWe recently completed a 12 session package with Tanya, working on correcting leash pulling with our 3 year old high energy pointer rescue pup. Tanya was great both working 1:1 with him and supporting us with coaching to know how to work with and respond to him and trouble shoot on our own for both practice between sessions and in moving forward post training sessions. I appreciated Tanya’s responsiveness, positive attitude and realistic approaches! - October 2025 - Denver, Colorado

Recommended Certifications for Dog Trainers
When choosing a dog trainer, professional certifications are a strong indicator of expertise, experience, and commitment to ethical, science-based methods. Widely recognized credentials include the CPDT-KA or CPDT-KSA from the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers, which demonstrate mastery of modern training techniques, canine behavior, and learning theory. The KPA-CTP (Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner) highlights trainers skilled in positive reinforcement and clicker training, while the IAABC Certified Dog Trainer credential, recognized internationally, signals advanced knowledge in behavior modification and problem-solving. Membership or certification through the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT) further reflects ongoing education and adherence to ethical standards. Many trainers also pursue specialty certifications in areas such as aggression management, behavior modification, or puppy development to address specific challenges.
For pet parents, choosing a certified trainer like Tanya Lim, ensures that your dog’s training is grounded in science, safety, and compassion. Asking about a trainer’s credentials is one of the best ways to make a confident, informed choice.
