Often times people bring their pets to me because they have tried everything else. The limp won't go away, loss of bowel/bladder, disc disease, training issues, not doing stairs, just not themselves, "looks drunken in the rear" but not always.
Once they see how Chiropractic care helps their seemingly "unhelpable "pet, they bring their other loved pets to KEEP them moving well.
The bones of the spine and joints are maintained in a specific alignment. The nerves which surround each joint and vertebral articulation are in constant communication with the central nervous system, brain and all organs. When even a subtle change in the alignment occurs, it is called a subluxation. Animal chiropractic care treats the biomechanics of joint functions and corrects subluxations, while restoring the proper functions of the nervous system. This is done by utilizing the chiropractic procedure known as “spinal adjustment”, applying corrective pressure to the spine in a specific direction and location. The manual force or thrust helps restore the alignment and mobility of the vertebrae.

Chiropractic care is an adjunct to your pet’s veterinary care, it does not replace it. Animal chiropractic care works with a veterinarian to provide the best overall treatment strategy for your pet’s health.Dr. Tamara Palmer did her undergraduate honors degree of Science in Human Kinetics at Guelph University in Guelph, Ontario Canada. She then went onto Chiropractic school at National College of Chiropractic in Lombard, Illinois. After graduation she moved to Boston to practice. She has been practicing Chiropractic for People since 1998. Dr. Palmer grew up with a love for animals and knew that she would incorporate animals into practice. After going through the proper AVCA-certified post graduate training at Parker Chiropractic College, she became an AVCA-certified animal chiropractor in November 2004. Dr. Palmer treats dogs, cats, horses and some other animals.

My Berners have been seeing Dr Palmer for almost 2 decades! She is The Best!! - Milford, MA

Tamara is the BEST! She has worked on 3 of my dogs and each one knew EXACTLY when it was Chiro day to go see her! She worked miracles with all 3 of them!! Strongly recommend her. Even my poor boy with PTSD was comfortable and happy with her and soooo enjoyed her care. Our two current babies will be going to her soon!

Our 12 year old golden retriever was diagnosed with spinal stenosis and arthritis and had suffered a series of bad falls because if it. For weeks he was unable to walk or stand without assistance and was on high amounts of pain medication. Even after we began physical therapy to help build up his weak back leg muscles, he continued to struggle with getting up off the floor and walked with a noticeable limp. Believers in chiropractic therapy for ourselves, we sought out treatment for our dog. After the first adjustment by Dr. Palmer we saw immediate results and each subsequent time he is adjusted we see him getting stronger, controlling how he gets up, and walks with an even gait. At first we were going once a week and now have been able to spread out our visits to every two weeks. We have decreased his medication to only on days he has more physical activity than he is use to. Our 12 year old is back to his old self, eager to go for walks, follows us around the house, and wants to play. Dr. Palmer is honest, kind, and very focused on the dog from the moment you set foot in the room. We are very grateful for the help and guidance Dr. Palmer has given us, and tell everyone who has a dog that is showing signs of spinal or disc issues to seek out her assistance. We truly believe he would not be with us today without her care.
