The breed

The Sussex Spaniel is a low, sturdy sporting dog with a long body, short legs, and a thoughtful expression. Its coat is dense, slightly wavy, and typically a rich golden-liver color that may darken with age. Long, feathered ears frame the face, while the tail and legs carry soft feathering. The breed has a distinctive, deliberate gait and a gentle, old-fashioned appearance.

Known for its calm, affectionate nature, the Sussex Spaniel is often described as loyal, sensitive, and quietly cheerful. It tends to be less exuberant than some other spaniels but still enjoys play and companionship. Sussex Spaniels are usually devoted to their families and may be reserved around unfamiliar people at first. Their patient, agreeable personality gives them a warm and dependable character.

Are you looking for a calm companion to relax with at home and enjoy leisurely walks? Consider the Sussex Spaniel for that.
