The breed

The Saluki is a graceful, elegant sighthound with a slim, athletic build, deep chest, long legs, and a narrow head. Its coat may be smooth or feathered, with silky fringes on the ears, tail, and legs. Salukis come in many colors and patterns, including cream, fawn, gold, red, black and tan, and white. Their overall appearance reflects speed, endurance, and refined beauty.

Salukis are usually gentle, quiet, and dignified companions. They often form close bonds with their families but may seem reserved around strangers. Independent by nature, they can be sensitive and somewhat catlike in their preferences. Their strong hunting instincts and love of running reflect their long history as desert coursing hounds.

Are you looking for an athletic companion for running or active outdoor adventures? Consider a Saluki for this role.
