Rottweiler

The breed

The Rottweiler is a large, powerful dog with a broad head, muscular body, and a confident, sturdy stance. Its short, dense coat is typically black with clearly defined rust or tan markings on the face, chest, legs, and eyebrows. Rottweilers have dark, expressive eyes and naturally folded ears that give them an alert appearance.

Rottweilers are generally calm, self-assured, and deeply devoted to their families. They are often watchful and reserved around unfamiliar people, reflecting their strong protective instincts. With people they know well, they can be affectionate, playful, and surprisingly gentle. Their intelligence and determination contribute to their reputation as capable, dependable working dogs.
