The breed

The Collie is a graceful, medium-to-large herding dog known for its elegant outline and long, narrow head. Rough Collies have a full, flowing double coat with a dramatic mane around the neck, while Smooth Collies have the same shape with a short, dense coat. Common colors include sable and white, tricolor, blue merle, and white.

Collies are generally intelligent, gentle, and alert dogs with a strong awareness of their surroundings. They are often devoted to their families and can be sensitive to tone and routine. Their herding background may show in their watchful nature and willingness to stay close to people. Many Collies are friendly, responsive, and dignified, with a calm but lively presence.

Are you looking for an alert companion that enjoys having a role in an active household? Consider the Collie for that.
