The breed

The Cairn Terrier is a small, sturdy dog with a shaggy, weather-resistant double coat that may be cream, wheaten, gray, brindle, or black. Its compact body, alert expression, pointed ears, and bright eyes give it a lively, foxlike appearance. Originally developed in Scotland to work among rocky cairns, it has a rugged, natural look rather than a polished one.

Cairn Terriers are spirited, curious, and confident dogs with plenty of personality. They are often playful and affectionate with their families, while remaining independent and determined in typical terrier fashion. Alert and quick to notice movement or unfamiliar sounds, they can be bold and energetic despite their small size. Their cheerful, adventurous nature has made them well known as engaging companions.

Are you looking for a small, lively companion that enjoys exploring and keeping watch around the home? Consider the Cairn Terrier for that role.
