The breed

The Beagle is a small-to-medium hound with a sturdy, compact body, long soft ears, and an expressive face. Its short, dense coat is usually seen in tricolor combinations of black, white, and tan, though other hound colors occur. Beagles have broad heads, dark or hazel eyes, and a tail often carried upright with a white tip.

Friendly, curious, and energetic, the Beagle is known for its keen sense of smell and cheerful personality. It often enjoys company and can be playful, affectionate, and sociable with familiar people. As a scent hound, it may become very focused when it catches an interesting smell. Its lively nature and distinctive howl or bay are classic Beagle traits.

Are you looking for a cheerful scent hound to join you on outdoor adventures? Consider the Beagle for that.
