Picking the right dog trainer is an important decision and there are many dog training options out there. I am an experienced dog trainer and would love to be of service to you and your furry friend, whether newly acquired or one whom has been with you for awhile!

Two Tails Up, LLC is a fully licensed, bonded, and insured professional dog training service serving the communities of Tega Cay, Fort Mill and Rock Hill, South Carolina.

We offer multiple in-home puppy and dog training packages including a Puppy Training Package, Adult Dog Training Package, Behavior Modification Package, and New Dog Orientation for individuals, couples and families getting their first dog.

Behavioral science research clearly shows that a dog learns more quickly and effectively when they are rewarded for good behaviors, not punished for bad ones. At Two Tails Up, we do more than just train your dog to behave better. We work with every client to create a custom personalized positive reinforcement, rewards-based / force-free behavior plan for their dog that will be followed at every session.

Recommended Certifications for Dog Trainers

When choosing a dog trainer, professional certifications are a strong indicator of expertise, experience, and commitment to ethical, science-based methods. Widely recognized credentials include the CPDT-KA or CPDT-KSA from the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers, which demonstrate mastery of modern training techniques, canine behavior, and learning theory. The KPA-CTP (Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner) highlights trainers skilled in positive reinforcement and clicker training, while the IAABC Certified Dog Trainer credential, recognized internationally, signals advanced knowledge in behavior modification and problem-solving. Membership or certification through the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT) further reflects ongoing education and adherence to ethical standards. Many trainers also pursue specialty certifications in areas such as aggression management, behavior modification, or puppy development to address specific challenges.

For pet parents, choosing a certified trainer like Kim Spyridon, ensures that your dog’s training is grounded in science, safety, and compassion. Asking about a trainer’s credentials is one of the best ways to make a confident, informed choice.
