Top Hand Equine Sports Massage is owned and operated by Abigail Borel, certified Equine Sports Massage Therapist. Abigail attended Midwest Natural Healing for Animals following the Amassage Method, developed by Beverly Brady.

Does your horse have one of the following issues:
-Over reaching
-Bucking or rearing under saddle
-Difficulty tracking up
-Trouble bending, difficulty dropping or raising head
-Resistance such as pinning ears
-Biting, kicking, or “girthy” while saddling (or riding)
-Abnormally bad mood
-Difficulty picking up the correct lead
-Reluctance to forward movement during exercise

These are just a handful of issues that equine sports massage can help resolve. Massage improves blood flow and circulation, increases range of motion, relieves the body of toxins, restores muscular-skeletal balance for the horse, enhances muscle tone, reduces inflammation, release endorphins (the body’s natural pain healer), enhances athletic performance, relieves tension and muscle spasms, helps prevent muscle related injuries, and increases the production of synovial fluid (which is extremely beneficial for horses with arthritis).

Massage can help dissolve those issues, but it is just as important to figure out where that pain is coming from and what is causing it.

I’m extremely thankful I went to a school that teaches students just that: Causes of pain, proper biomechanics, saddle fit and placement, hoof/dental information & issues, rehab strategies, the ability to eyeball a horse and a plethora of other important factors to help dissect the true issue(s) at hand.

Myofascial Release & Craniosacral Therapy, Red Light Therapy, Kinesiology Taping and much more coming soon!
