At The Pooch Pros, we specialize in creating calm, confident, and well-mannered dogs through our gentle, relationship-based training approach. We never use shock collars, choke chains, or harsh methods—just patience, positive reinforcement, and clear communication. Our board & train programs welcome puppies and adult dogs of all breeds, ages, and temperaments, giving them the structure, guidance, and consistency they need to thrive.

Our in-home training model sets us apart. Dogs live and learn in a real household environment, making it easier for them to transition back into your home with their new skills. Whether your pup needs help with obedience, leash manners, potty and crate training, or socialization, every program is customized to your dog’s unique personality and your family’s goals. Throughout their stay, your pup receives loving, all-inclusive care and training from morning to night.

We make the process stress-free for pet parents. Professional pick-up and drop-off services are included, and you’ll receive video updates, training notes, and a clear roadmap for continued success at home. Our pricing starts at $2,000 for a two-week board & train, with additional weeks available at $600 each if you’d like your dog to continue their progress. Recommended Certifications for Dog Trainers

When choosing a dog trainer, professional certifications are a strong indicator of expertise, experience, and commitment to ethical, science-based methods. Widely recognized credentials include the CPDT-KA or CPDT-KSA from the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers, which demonstrate mastery of modern training techniques, canine behavior, and learning theory. The KPA-CTP (Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner) highlights trainers skilled in positive reinforcement and clicker training, while the IAABC Certified Dog Trainer credential, recognized internationally, signals advanced knowledge in behavior modification and problem-solving. Membership or certification through the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT) further reflects ongoing education and adherence to ethical standards. Many trainers also pursue specialty certifications in areas such as aggression management, behavior modification, or puppy development to address specific challenges.

For pet parents, choosing a certified trainer like Angela Norwood, ensures that your dog’s training is grounded in science, safety, and compassion. Asking about a trainer’s credentials is one of the best ways to make a confident, informed choice.
