Hello! My name is Dorrie and I run a pet transport company. We do only a couple of babies at a time. In cab of a double cab pick up truck on a custom built platform. Every kennel has a clear view with fans for continuous air circulation. So not one baby can be overheated.
We are USDA and adhere to their regulations. All the babies are GPS’d and get a harness and Collars as needed. We can see and hear them at all times. We spoil them with chicken and loves. They are all treated like my own personal baby is. Btw. He rides with me. Bear. He is 50 pounds soaking wet. Total jerk to anyone who dares to touch HIS trailer. lol. That’s his throne apparently. Otherwise he can be bought for a piece of chicken. 🥴
All transports are never left alone for longer than paying for gas or using the bathroom. Hands on checks on each baby onboard is about 80 miles apart. Each one is touched and loved on. This assures me that they are eating. Drinking and staying happy. We do a lot of cookies!!!
We stay with the truck as much as physically possible. We do not stay in hotels unless the truck is empty. We do not leave transports alone in the truck.
I try to haul a boat or trailer as well (not always happening) and we work with many rescues to move 2nd chance dogs. We never have more than what we can handle onboard.
