Pack Leader Dog Training and Equine Sports Massage - Escondido, CA

Member since Feb 2020

Over 30 years of experience in K9 handing and animal husbandry. I am certified as a Canine Behaviorist and I am specializing in performance dog training and handling. Through my experience as a football coach I have successfully used video to analyze, evaluate, market and educate student-athletes and the coaches the teach them. I implement over-head-digital video to assess students in beginning canine obedience training. It has been my experience that we are all vicarious learners; we learn by watching others. Just as the learning relationship is forged between Master and student the student learns that the most rewarding relationship is between their DOG and theirselves.

It takes 24 consecutive days of detailed work for a HUMAN to create or eliminate a habit. If you want to train your dog to perform obedience, the basics; sit, down, stay, wait, come/here, leave-it. Or, you want to get rid of undesirable behaviors, having a basic understanding of the background in dogs and their inherent traits is a good idea along with the commitment to put the time in now, to save time later..

We offer: Puppy Kindergarten, Beginning & Advanced Obedience, AKC Canine Good Citizen, Performance training and our Canine Behavior Rehabilitation to Re-home Program.

Our training class session is on average "(2) 45 minute classes per week for 4 weeks", and are designed to empower the inner "Pack Leader" in you, and for your dogs' success. Horse massage rate is $100.00 per hour.

Recommended Certifications for Dog Trainers

When choosing a dog trainer, professional certifications are a strong indicator of expertise, experience, and commitment to ethical, science-based methods. Widely recognized credentials include the CPDT-KA or CPDT-KSA from the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers, which demonstrate mastery of modern training techniques, canine behavior, and learning theory. The KPA-CTP (Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner) highlights trainers skilled in positive reinforcement and clicker training, while the IAABC Certified Dog Trainer credential, recognized internationally, signals advanced knowledge in behavior modification and problem-solving. Membership or certification through the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT) further reflects ongoing education and adherence to ethical standards. Many trainers also pursue specialty certifications in areas such as aggression management, behavior modification, or puppy development to address specific challenges.

For pet parents, choosing a certified trainer like Shayne Ganz, ensures that your dog’s training is grounded in science, safety, and compassion. Asking about a trainer’s credentials is one of the best ways to make a confident, informed choice.
