We Make Sit Happen

We would love to lead you to your "perfect pet". Every animal is different; together we can work with each other and provide the guidance your dog or cat needs. Whether you’re thinking about getting an animal, have a new pet, or need to brush up on the basics, we are here to help. We are run by a Registered Veterinary Technician specializing in behavior that has numerous certifications in dog training, nutrition, canine rehab and canine conditioning. We are apart of Shock Free Coalition as well. We have numerous services including but not limited to basic manners, service dog training, therapy dog training, fitness and conditioning, and behavioral services. We offer both in home and virtual training. We also do CGC, trick dog and FIT Dog classes/testing. All of our trainers are also available for CGC, trick dog, ATT, FETCH, and Farm Dog Testing. We do offer board and train services for some select situations and clientele. These are required to have a minimum of a 2 week time frame and we only do 1 board and train client at a time. These are approved on a case by case basis. On occasion, we have the available for day training and/or puppy play groups. These are also approved on a case by case basis.

Recommended Certifications for Dog Trainers

When choosing a dog trainer, professional certifications are a strong indicator of expertise, experience, and commitment to ethical, science-based methods. Widely recognized credentials include the CPDT-KA or CPDT-KSA from the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers, which demonstrate mastery of modern training techniques, canine behavior, and learning theory. The KPA-CTP (Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner) highlights trainers skilled in positive reinforcement and clicker training, while the IAABC Certified Dog Trainer credential, recognized internationally, signals advanced knowledge in behavior modification and problem-solving. Membership or certification through the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT) further reflects ongoing education and adherence to ethical standards. Many trainers also pursue specialty certifications in areas such as aggression management, behavior modification, or puppy development to address specific challenges.

For pet parents, choosing a certified trainer like Emilea Byrum, ensures that your dog’s training is grounded in science, safety, and compassion. Asking about a trainer’s credentials is one of the best ways to make a confident, informed choice.
