Little Critters Training and Care - Private Dog Trainer - Framingham, MA
Welcome to Little Critters Training and Care! Whether you just took home a puppy or kitten or have had your dog or cat for many years, we can help you with training and behavior modification. When working with your family on the problems that need to be resolved, we meet with everybody regularly to discuss issues and concerns, in addition to spending a lot of time with your best friend. These regular meetings are crucial to success with the training. We believe that working with your pet should be a rich and rewarding experience, not something to be endured until the process is over. Teaching is our passion, and we treat each pet as our own. We truly understand how deep the bond is with our furry friends, and how sacred the trust. We commit as much time and energy that is required to reach the goals for you and your pet. Recommended Certifications for Dog Trainers
When choosing a dog trainer, professional certifications are a strong indicator of expertise, experience, and commitment to ethical, science-based methods. Widely recognized credentials include the CPDT-KA or CPDT-KSA from the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers, which demonstrate mastery of modern training techniques, canine behavior, and learning theory. The KPA-CTP (Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner) highlights trainers skilled in positive reinforcement and clicker training, while the IAABC Certified Dog Trainer credential, recognized internationally, signals advanced knowledge in behavior modification and problem-solving. Membership or certification through the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT) further reflects ongoing education and adherence to ethical standards. Many trainers also pursue specialty certifications in areas such as aggression management, behavior modification, or puppy development to address specific challenges.
For pet parents, choosing a certified trainer like Shauna Norton, ensures that your dog’s training is grounded in science, safety, and compassion. Asking about a trainer’s credentials is one of the best ways to make a confident, informed choice.
