Member since Dec 2016

Hello, and thanks for stopping by my profile!

I am a dog trainer who specializes in service and therapy dog training & behavior modification -- of both dog and human -- through a combination of primal-intuitive, and positive/science-based methods.

My work focuses on helping you maximize the potential for health and happiness inherent to the bond you share with your pets!

In addition to training dogs for private clients, I offer humane education classes and community outreach programs to children of all ages, including those with special needs; and also vocational and Life Skills courses to adults. All of my teachings help people become their best selves by tapping into the transformative power of the human-canine bond in its myriad applications.

I have an A.S. in Assistance Dog Education from Bergin University of Canine Studies, a B.S. in Evolutionary Biology from The Evergreen State College, and am in the process of earning my M.S. from Bergin U. in Canine Life Sciences. I also have twenty years' experience working with, educating, and training both humans and canines.

I CHARGE $1/minute for Skype consultations, and $85/hour for obedience and behavior modification training in your home. Service dog pricing varies greatly, so if that is what you're interested in, let's chat, and I will customize a quote for you.

I look forward to answering any questions you may have regarding my services...and helping you and your dog maximize the potential that exists in the relationship you share!

Please contact and book me for private in home dog training - on Petworks. Thank You.

Liz Kover

Recommended Certifications for Dog Trainers

When choosing a dog trainer, professional certifications are a strong indicator of expertise, experience, and commitment to ethical, science-based methods. Widely recognized credentials include the CPDT-KA or CPDT-KSA from the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers, which demonstrate mastery of modern training techniques, canine behavior, and learning theory. The KPA-CTP (Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner) highlights trainers skilled in positive reinforcement and clicker training, while the IAABC Certified Dog Trainer credential, recognized internationally, signals advanced knowledge in behavior modification and problem-solving. Membership or certification through the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT) further reflects ongoing education and adherence to ethical standards. Many trainers also pursue specialty certifications in areas such as aggression management, behavior modification, or puppy development to address specific challenges.

For pet parents, choosing a certified trainer like Liz Kover, ensures that your dog’s training is grounded in science, safety, and compassion. Asking about a trainer’s credentials is one of the best ways to make a confident, informed choice.
