Honest To Dog - Certified Canine Trainers - Glen Allen, VA
Serving the greater Richmond VA area since 2001. At Honest To Dog, our top priority is ensuring that our pet clients are engaged, focused, and even having fun during training! We believe that a positive, fear-free environment enables pets to respond better to training, retain new skills, and ultimately choose appropriate behaviors on their own.
Before beginning any training, we take the time to understand all aspects of your life and your pet's lifestyle. This includes your daily schedule, the areas of your home your pet has access to, where they eat, sleep, and play, as well as your hobbies and how you wish to incorporate your pets into them. With this information, we create a custom training plan tailored to provide real-life solutions for your unique needs.
Honest To Dog also connects you with reliable pet resources in the RVA community, including veterinarians, groomers, pet sitters, and daycare centers.
Owner Michelle Mullins has been training animals professionally since 2001 and is a Fear Free® certified training professional. She is also a video contributor to the Fear Free Animal Trainer Course and has spent over 15 years exploring the science of animal learning through leading educational resources and organizations, she’s a self-proclaimed behavior enthusiast! This extensive knowledge enables her to help your pets become well-adjusted members of your family.
As a certified trainer from Karen Pryor Academy, Michelle employs clicker and marker training techniques to teach your pets the skills they need to thrive in your home. Together with her husband, Daniel, she shares her life with two “honest” dogs, Jinks and Callisto, who serve as living proof of her training expertise.
Making a positive impact in the RVA pet community is important to Michelle. She is actively involved with organizations such as FETCH a Cure, VETFund, and the Richmond Animal League.
