Customer Reviews

We felt like it was best to let our beloved cat Marshie of 19 years go peacefully in his bed at home. I am very grateful for Dr. Nieto and HomeHeart Vets for providing their services directly to our home. They even reached out afterwards to share their condolences which meant a lot to us. Thank you again - October 2025

I am so grateful I found Home Heart Vets when it was time to say goodbye to our Lila after 19 years. They couldn’t have been any more compassionate and comforting. Dr Dana took the time to explain everything, followed my lead and waited for me to be ready for each next step, and lovingly and respectfully cared for Lila before and after she transitioned. They sent a touching card offering condolences a week or two later. The whole process and team provided peace and comfort at such a sad time. We are forever grateful for them. - Hoboken, NJ

HomeHeart Vets made my cat Milo's passing as peaceful as possible for both of us. Being in Brooklyn and seeing the company was based in NJ, when I called, I thought it was a real long shot that I'd get someone to come to us on New Year's Eve. I'd almost given up hope and was getting anxious about whether Milo would last even a couple of more days till after the holiday, and if so, without distress. But Dr. Dana came through and was wonderful. I miss Milo terribly, but I will always be comforted by the peaceful passing provided by HomeHeart Vets. He slept comfortably through the whole thing and barely reacted. Thank you for this gift. Here's a pic of sweet Milo on the day I adopted him. He was already 10. I will treasure the six years I had with him. Thanks to HomeHeart, there are no tainted memories of an unpleasant passing.

🦔 Compassionate In-Home Pet Euthanasia by David Birse

When the time comes to say goodbye, where it happens matters. David comes to your home so your dog or cat can pass peacefully in a familiar, loving environment — surrounded by the sights, smells, and people they know.

David provides gentle, respectful in-home pet euthanasia in Boston, MA, serving pet parents throughout Suffolk County and surrounding areas including Cambridge, Quincy, Lynn, Somerville, Newton, Brockton, Framingham, Waltham, Malden, Medford. Each visit is paced entirely around you and your pet — there is no rush, no cold clinic setting, and no moment spent away from home.

What should I expect during David's visit?

When David arrives, they will take time to meet you and your pet, answer any questions you have, and ensure you feel comfortable before anything begins. There is no rush.

The visit typically has three stages. First, a sedative is administered to help your pet relax completely — most pets become calm and drowsy within a few minutes. Second, once your pet is fully at ease, the final medication is given. The process is gentle and painless, and your pet will simply drift off to sleep. Third, David will confirm the passing and give you as much time as you need to say goodbye. You are welcome to hold your pet, have family members present, or simply sit quietly together. The entire visit is guided entirely by you.

How do I schedule a visit with David?

Browse David's listing page above, request and receive a quote, then complete your booking securely online. Payment is accepted via Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Klarna. All sessions are covered by PetWorks Care Coverage.

What is PetWorks Care Coverage?

PetWorks Care Coverage means we stand behind every vet on our platform. If something isn't right with your experience — from scheduling to the visit itself — we're here to help make it right. You deserve support at every step, not just during the appointment.

Does David offer same-day or after-hours appointments?

Availability varies by provider. Visit David's profile on PetWorks to check current availability, or send a message directly to ask about urgent or after-hours scheduling.

💖 You don't have to face this moment alone. David is here to help you give your pet the peaceful goodbye they deserve.
