Forever By My Side - Animal Reiki and Pet Death Doula - Nationwide
Amy is a certified Reiki Master Practitioner and a Death Doula who serves animals and their families virtually and in Wilmington, North Carolina. Her business, Forever By My Side, also provides In-Home Pet Sitting and Dog Walking. She lives with her dog Nola Grace. She has been an animal lover all of her life. Amy has been practicing Reiki for people and pets since 2013. Amy holds a first degree Reiki certification (Shoden), a second degree Reiki certification (Okuden), and a Reiki Master certification in the Usui System of Natural Healing (Usui Shiki Ryoho). Amy also holds certification in the Let Animals Lead Method of Animal Reiki. Amy provides in-home Reiki and Distance Reiki. With her Distance Reiki services, she is able to provide Reiki for pets and parents of pets all around the world. Amy has a very calming energy and animals feel safe in her care. I am a proud member of the Reiki Healing Association and the International Association of Reiki Professionals.
Amy has served families in the death care industry since 2019 as a Family Service Counselor. Amy assisted families with prearrangements for cemetery and funeral services and provided grief support. Amy holds a Death Doula certification from IAP Career College. Amy has also successfully completed the Pet Hospice and Death Doula certificate course with Ute Luppertz. Amy is a member of the Association for Pet Loss and Bereavement, and she is a member of The International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care. Amy has endured the loss of her own pets (Tiffany and Strider). She experienced a sudden loss of her dog Tiffany in 2013. The grief she experienced through that loss was like nothing she ever experienced before. Amy understands that grief comes in many waves and impacts everyone differently. She experienced anticipatory loss with her dog Strider. Strider had ongoing chronic illness. As he got older, he developed "doggie dementia". Although Amy knew his death would be coming soon, it was still very difficult to process. Amy became a Pet Death Doula (or known as an End-of-Life Doula) to assist families during one of the hardest times of their life. Amy understands that animals are part of the family, and it is okay to take time to grieve. Amy can assist you with honoring the life of your pet before or after a loss.
She is a member of the National Association for Professional Pet Sitters. Amy holds a certification in Cat and Dog First Aid with the American Red Cross and she also holds certification in Dog Agility and First Aid for Pets Through Alison.
