Certified Canine Behavior Consultant (CBCC-KA) Behaviorist - Nokesville, VA
As a Certified Canine Behavior Consultant (CBCC-KA) and Animal Clinical Behavior postgraduate education, my work focuses on the intersection of behavior, emotional regulation, and handling- particularly in situations where dogs struggle with stress-based responses, trauma, fear and aggression. I work with all breeds, helping prevent the development of fear-based behaviors and addressing more complex cases where standard training is no longer sufficient. I have helped over 300 bully breeds, with over a decade of experience working with rescue dogs of all breeds. I specialize in supporting harmony in the home and enhancing the communication between dogs and their human guardians through knowledge. I think dogs are at their best when they can express their natural behaviors and we can understand them, so I empower guardians to become extremely knowledgeable about dogs.
My approach is structured, evidence-based, and designed to create long-term stability. I understand the nuances of canine behavior and the importance of guidance through behavior modification. My techniques incorporate elements from a variety of disciplines such as positive reinforcement training, holistic European training, animal neuroscience, animal biomechanics, and clinical behavior practice to modify behavior positively.
In addition to my Canine Behavior designation, I am also an Ethical Dog Trainer and Behavior Specialist from the prestigious Nordic Turid Rugaas School of Dog Training (Norway), Certified canine biomechanics analyst from the Galen Myotherapy school (UK), and Fear-Free Certified Professional.
If you are finding no way out with your dog, you do not have to go through it alone. Contact me. I can assure you there are many different venues to help dogs succeed.
