Benny's Best Dog Training - Private Dog Trainer - Olympia, WA
Hi hello!
I am a certified dog trainer, behavior consultant, & pet sitter, with a focus on utilizing humane & evidence-based methods.
I started working with dogs as an undergrad 10 years ago, as a dog handler, pet sitter, & overnight caretaker in daycares in NYC, working up to managing a couple of facilities. I also worked & volunteered at rescues in NYC & Phoenix. I currently volunteer my time as a handler, trainer, & behavior consultant.
I'm new to Olympia, but I come with a roster of loyal clients. Additional references can be provided upon request!
Pet sitting:
I have experience with most dog breeds & am comfortable with pups of all sizes, ages, & temperaments. Working with anxious, reactive, and aggressive dogs is my bread and butter, so if you need someone with more experience and behavior knowledge, I'm the gal for the job! I'll gladly look after your cat, gecko, hamster, rats, tarantula, teacup pig, or pygmy goats as well!
If Lucky is an active guy who enjoys the outdoors, I'd love to take him hiking or running. Or, I would be happy to snuggle on the couch with your more mellow pooch :)
I have no issues administering medication or doing other house sitting duties (picking up mail, watering the plants, taking out garbage, you name it!).
I'm insured, bonded, & first aid certified. I'm clean, punctual, honest, always reachable, and provide daily picture updates.
As I have three somewhat dog-selective dogs of my own, I would pet sit in your home. I also like the idea of not creating additional stress in pets by disrupting their environment & routine.
My partner takes care of my pups while I'm away.
My schedule is very flexible & can be tailored to your specific needs :)
*** Please note that the rate for overnight care is $75/night for one pet. There is a $10 charge for each additional pet, with possible discounts for multi-pet households. ***
Please contact and book my private dog training sessions on Petworks. Thank You.

Recommended Certifications for Dog Trainers
When choosing a dog trainer, professional certifications are a strong indicator of expertise, experience, and commitment to ethical, science-based methods. Widely recognized credentials include the CPDT-KA or CPDT-KSA from the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers, which demonstrate mastery of modern training techniques, canine behavior, and learning theory. The KPA-CTP (Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner) highlights trainers skilled in positive reinforcement and clicker training, while the IAABC Certified Dog Trainer credential, recognized internationally, signals advanced knowledge in behavior modification and problem-solving. Membership or certification through the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT) further reflects ongoing education and adherence to ethical standards. Many trainers also pursue specialty certifications in areas such as aggression management, behavior modification, or puppy development to address specific challenges.
For pet parents, choosing a certified trainer like Sandra Roosna, ensures that your dog’s training is grounded in science, safety, and compassion. Asking about a trainer’s credentials is one of the best ways to make a confident, informed choice.
