How we measured this
These rankings come from PetWorks' own booking data rather than a survey or a public register. When a pet parent books care or requests a quote, they tell us their pet's name, what kind of animal it is, and whether it is a boy or a girl.
We count one entry per household per pet, so a family who books every month is not counted twice. We ignore entries that are not a single pet's name — placeholders like “puppy”, “n/a” and “not named yet”, and fields holding two pets at once. Spelling and capitalization are normalized, so Bella and bella count together, while Lilly and Lily stay separate because they are different names.
