All living things have chi/life force energy running through them. So it should be no surprise that animals, four-legged, winged, and others, can benefit from Reiki sessions. According to the American Kennel Club, Reiki has been shown to support animals in the following ways:

Stress relief and reduction of anxiety;
Coping with illness and surgery recovery;
End-of-life care.
Past 4-legged clients have shared their trauma with me and trusted me to help them release these experiences and experience greater ease and joy.

During these sessions, animals share information that would be helpful for their humans to know for their physical & emotional well-being. I encourage guardians to participate in sessions. A pre and post-consult with animal guardians is part of the session.
