A Bark Away From Home - Private Dog Training Service - Yucca Valley, CA
I am passionate about transforming the bond between pet owners and their beloved dogs into a harmonious partnership built on trust and communication. Since 2015, when I transitioned from a vibrant career in the music industry to pursue my true calling, I have been dedicated to dog training. With my Animal Behavior College Dog Trainer (ABCDT) certification and a Certificate in Applied Animal Behavior (UW-AAB) from the University of Washington, I offer a wealth of knowledge and expertise to every training session. Additionally, my commitment to safety and well-being is reinforced by my American Red Cross Pet First Aid and CPR Certification. Whether it's puppies or seasoned canine companions, I understand them all, having grown up with large dogs and currently sharing my home with two small dogs.
My training philosophy is centered around the least intrusive, minimally aversive (LIMA) approach, ensuring that your dog’s learning experience is both effective and enjoyable. As a Fear Free Certified Professional, I focus on management and reward-based training strategies, utilizing tools such as back-clip harnesses, toys, and treats to motivate and encourage positive behavior. I serve a broad range of canine sizes, from under 20 lbs to 80+ lbs, and offer mobile services to accommodate you and your pet conveniently. My membership in the Animal Behavior Society (ABS) and the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC) reflects my dedication to staying informed and educated in the best practices of animal behavior.
With several years of experience volunteering at shelters like Santa Monica Animal Shelter and Los Angeles Animal Services, and fostering for Best Friends Los Angeles, I bring a compassionate and informed approach to every interaction. My business is fully insured and licensed, providing you with peace of mind as we work together to enhance your dog's behavior. Recently brought home a new puppy to my home. Already have a full grown dog, an akita (Murphy). Murphy has been part of my life for over 6 years and thought both he and I needed a third member of the pack. Along comes Mac, a golden retriever. Mac, as a puppy, was all over the place. Has energy for days and wanted to play...where as Murphy was over it. Who knew that bringing these two together was going to require so much time and energy. Did some research and was given Ronnie's information. She provided such patience and time with my two furry friends, but more so to me. She explained information that I would have ever known. Sadly, Murphy and Mac wont be best buds...but we all now can live together. Ronnie explained how to best maximize both pups and my personality so that there would not be any fighting or hairpulling (on my part). - Los Angeles, CA
- Mike SThis past May my family adopted a 3 year old schnoodle that we named Bo. We were looking for an additional companion for my 4 year old daughter and 8 year old lhasa apso. When the whole family met him at the adoption center Bo seemed pretty chill and go with the flow. Upon bringing Bo home he exhibited signs of aggression. I knew right away that I needed professional help for Bo. I scoured Yelp for a positive reinforcement training program since it worked with our current dog. I came across Ronnie's listing and contacted her immediately. She was very personable and knowledgeable on our phone consult. I signed Bo and I up for the 4 lesson package deal. We learned the basic commands of sit and down, as well as, leash control. In between lessons, Ronnie was always available via email if I had any questions. Bo and I have completed our lessons and I have seen a huge difference in his disposition. He went from an aggressive dog to a dog that wants to be loved on and apt to learning. Bo and I will continue with additional lessons because a whole new world has opened up for him and there is so much to see and learn. - Culver City, CA
