How did you hone your craft?
I have worked with numerous working dog trainers, regularly attend seminars and workshops (especially for working dogs), have worked with working dogs in the field for over 31 years, and besides all the practical experience, have always had an inutitive connection and understanding of animals, especially dogs. My own dogs have always been trained to a high level of communication and understanding with me, enabling them to do many things that normal dogs are not expected to do or to understand. I believe in the intelligence, ability, and resillience of dogs and the service they are ready to give to mankind, no matter whether they are a full-on working dog or a wonderful family pet!
What tip would you give pet parents for working with animals that you've learned as a pro?
Training requires calm focus and patience from you if you want your dog to be calm and focussed, listen to and respect what you are requiring..
