The Wilderness First Aid for Dogs course is for outdoor enthusiasts who like to take their dogs on their adventures where access to emergency veterinary care is unavailable. Learn to help increase your dog’s chance of survival and/or prevent their medical emergencies from getting worse by knowing what to do when emergencies happen during outdoor activities. This is a comprehensive detailed program that focuses on wilderness first aid and the management of medical emergencies that can happen to your dog in remote areas, trail hiking, camping, water activities, and more. Disclaimer: Some of the topics in this course are also covered in our Canine and Feline CPR and First Aid course. Additional material has been added to this course to focus on injuries and situations that can happen with dogs engaging in outdoor activities.

Curriculum for all classes is developed by licensed veterinary professionals using veterinary industry standard methods of emergency medical care. Every course offered by Pet Emergency Academy contains a curriculum that is carefully designed by veterinary and animal professionals for the best educational experience. Courses are On-Demand which means they are made up of various content items such as tutorial videos, class recordings, and presentations that each participant can proceed through at their own speed. Instead of a participant having to join and review material at a specific time, they can go through the course content when it is convenient for them.
