VestaSoul My Vet At Home provides compassionate in-home euthanasia for dogs and cats in selected Miami-Dade County ZIP codes. This service allows families to say goodbye in the privacy and comfort of home, where the pet can remain in a familiar environment surrounded by the people they trust.
Dr. Susset Diaz-Castillo personally performs the visit and takes time to explain each step before proceeding. The appointment includes a veterinary evaluation, discussion of quality of life and the family’s wishes, sedation when medically appropriate, and euthanasia performed with dignity, patience, and care. Every effort is made to keep the experience peaceful and minimize fear, discomfort, and stress for both the pet and the family.
Families may choose to remain with their pet throughout the process. Aftercare options can also be discussed in advance, including private or communal cremation arrangements when available. Final recommendations are based on the pet’s condition, the family’s preferences, and the circumstances of the appointment.
In-home euthanasia starts at $695 per pet. Final pricing depends on the pet’s needs, location, timing, and aftercare arrangements. Appointments are available Monday through Friday, 10 AM–4 PM, in selected areas of Miami-Dade County. We do not provide emergency or after-hours euthanasia, and all visits must be scheduled in advance.

How did you hone your craft?

I developed my approach through more than 20 years of veterinary practice, caring for pets with complex medical conditions, chronic disease, advanced age, and end-of-life needs. My work combines clinical judgment, careful pain and comfort assessment, clear communication with families, and a calm, respectful in-home approach. I also use integrative modalities when appropriate to support comfort and reduce stress.

What tip would you give pet parents for working with animals that you've learned as a pro?

Pay close attention to changes in appetite, breathing, mobility, sleep, comfort, interaction, and interest in normal activities. Quality of life is not determined by one sign alone. Keeping a simple daily record of good days and difficult days can help families recognize meaningful changes and make decisions with greater clarity and less guilt.
