Expertise:
Training dogs isn’t just about the dog. The family that lives with the dog needs to know how to communicate with their pet. But the thing is, the dog training industry isn't regulated like the veterinary industry. Anyone can call themselves a "dog trainer" without any formal education in the profession or even having their training skills tested by a third party. I want you to know I have that continuing education and have had my dog training skills tested.
With a Bachelors Degree in Human Psychology and supervised “in class” training experiences, my assessments have shown that I have retained the information in the science of learning and have become competent in the technical skills necessary to train people. Teaching a variety of subjects to a number of age groups over the years has helped increase these teaching skills.
It also takes more than loving a dog to know how to properly and safely train them. I continue to take various ongoing certification and continuing education courses in animal training and behavior to learn the most recent dog training science. My skills are continuing to be tested as I go through continuing education to keep up my certifications. And you get the benefit of my education. Sharing my knowledge will help you have a better understanding of your dog and help shorten the time it takes to train your pet!

Pricing Packages
On this first visit your trainer will conduct a functional assessment of your dog's behavior in their home environment. Together with the information you provide on a questionnaire that will be sent to you your trainer will give you a professional assessment based on what they observe. We'll give you some suggestions on how to work with the behaviors you are concerned with and suggest follow up lessons that will help you reach your desired training goals for your dog.
This package may be suggested by the Lead Trainer if your pet has one or two training issues to work on. The package includes (3) Private 1-hour sessions in your home.
No home environment is exactly like another and some are more challenging than others to dogs that have not experienced things in their new home. This package includes (6) one hour lessons to work on what is most important to you.
Some of the things we can work on in the (6) one hours lessons are:
* Socializing a puppy
* Common puppy issues like biting, chewing, and jumping
* Proactive preventions like site management and re-direction
* Focus
* Impulse control
* Manners like sit, stay, down, come
* Walking on a loose leash
* Interpreting your dog's body language
For pet owners who have a fearful dog or one that has resource guarding issues, dog-dog aggression issues, or dog-human aggression issues a program will be custom quoted with the number of sessions based on observations at the initial assessment.
If at the assessment your trainer suggests that your pet be given a thorough veterinary assessment, the results of the veterinary assessment will need to be presented to plan the training course.

What tip would you give pet parents for working with animals that you've learned as a pro?
Consent tests - Give the animal space to decide if they are comfortable interacting with you. Don't reach out for them let them come to you to interact with them. Head turning away, lip licking, sniffing the ground, all things that turn their focus away from you means "please don't enter my safety bubble."
What is one thing you want pet parents to know about you? It can be whatev-fur you'd like!
Continuing education is very important to me. I want to know the most up to date information in learning theory and practices from the most reliable sources in the industry. There are new studies in behavior and animal health out every year and I don't want to rely on old data.
