At SHA-Pet Transport LLC, we make pet relocation calm, safe, and personalized. Based in Dallas, Texas, we are a USDA-registered and fully insured pet transport team providing nationwide door-to-door ground transportation for dogs, cats, puppies, and a wide variety of companion animals. Led by Sharëssa Huffman, our services also include regional and national pet transport, local pet taxi services, flight nanny support, and international pet shipping coordination for pet parents who need dependable travel solutions.

We offer semi-private transport for up to three households traveling in the same direction, providing an affordable long-distance option, as well as private direct transport for up to two households. Private transport keeps pets comfortably separated and offers a quieter, faster journey that is especially well suited for puppies, senior pets, anxious travelers, and large breeds—including Mastiffs, Cane Corsos, and Newfoundlands. Every trip includes a climate-controlled vehicle, secure properly sized crates provided by us, scheduled potty, water, and stretch breaks, medication administration as prescribed, and photo and text updates. Your pet’s food, toys, and blanket stay with them, and we never leave pets unattended.

Whether we are helping with a new puppy, breeder placement, rescue adoption, military or PCS move, cross-country relocation, or travel for dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, reptiles, small mammals, and other pets, we treat every passenger like family. Our booking process is straightforward, with a clear quote, signed agreement, and a 50% deposit due 48 hours before pickup; the remaining balance is due at pickup. Share your pet’s name, route, and preferred dates, and we’ll create a personalized transport plan. Ready to get started? Book us through PetWorks today!

How did you hone your craft?

I honed my craft through ten years of hands-on experience in the transportation industry, managing logistics under pressure, coordinating complex routes, and learning how to stay calm when things don't go as planned — because they never always do. Pet transport specifically taught me things no classroom could. Every animal is different. Every owner has a different level of anxiety. I learned how to read both. I raised dogs alongside kids, which gave me a foundation of patience, instinct, and the ability to keep everyone safe and on schedule simultaneously. I invested in formal pet handler training, obtained my USDA registration, and built a team of vetted drivers so that my standard of care wasn't just mine — it became a system. I didn't fall into this. I built toward it deliberately, and every shipment since has made me sharper.

What tip would you give pet parents for working with animals that you've learned as a pro?

The biggest thing I've learned is that your energy transfers directly to your pet. If you're anxious at drop-off, they feel it. The best thing a pet parent can do is say goodbye with confidence — short, warm, and calm. Your pet takes their cue from you. A long, emotional goodbye actually makes the transition harder for them. Second — communicate everything upfront. Quirks, fears, feeding schedules, what calms them down, what sets them off. The more I know before I ever open that door, the better I can advocate for your animal on the road. No detail is too small. Third — trust the process. Once your pet is in our care, constant check-in texts every hour can create anxiety on both ends. We send updates proactively. No news from us is good news — it means your pet is settled, comfortable, and moving safely. You hired a professional because you love your pet. Let us do our job. That's the best thing you can do for them.

What is one thing you want pet parents to know about you? It can be whatev-fur you'd like!

I take this personally. Every single time. When you hand me your pet, you're handing me a family member. I don't forget that for a single mile. I've had clients tell me they were more nervous about their pet's transport than their own cross-country move — and I get it completely. That's why I built SHA-Pet Transport the way I did. Not to move as many animals as possible, but to move each one the right way. I am reachable. I communicate. I problem-solve in real time. And if something unexpected happens on the road — weather, a detour, a rest stop that takes longer than planned — you'll hear it from me before you ever have to wonder. What I want every pet parent to know is this: your pet is not a shipment to me. They're the whole reason I do this work. And I will treat them exactly the way I'd want someone to treat mine.

Cat-astrophes happen! What is your cancellation policy?

PetWorks Cancellation Policy Pet Care Professional's Own Policy If a pet care professional has published their own cancellation or refund policy, that policy governs the refund of the service amount only. Any PetWorks fees, including the Care Coverage Fee and Pet Care Professional Cancellation Fee, are governed by this PetWorks Cancellation Policy and not by the pet care professional's policy. Pet Parent Cancels If the pet care professional has not published their own cancellation policy, the service amount is refundable only if the pet parent cancels at least 72 hours before the scheduled start time of the booking. Cancellations within 72 hours of the scheduled start time are non-refundable for the service amount. The Care Coverage Fee is non-refundable when a pet parent cancels, regardless of timing and regardless of whether the pet care professional has their own cancellation policy. Pet Parent No-Show If a pet parent does not show up for a confirmed booking, no refund will be issued for the service amount or the Care Coverage Fee. Pet Care Professional Cancels If a pet care professional cancels a confirmed booking, the pet parent receives a 100% refund of everything they paid, including the Care Coverage Fee. The pet care professional receives no payment for the canceled service and is charged a Pet Care Professional Cancellation Fee equal to 10% of the service amount, up to a maximum of $150. PetWorks may collect this fee by deducting it from a future payout through PetWorks or by other means if no future payout is available. Policy in Effect at Booking The cancellation rules that apply to a booking, including any pet care professional cancellation policy on file and the Pet Care Professional Cancellation Fee rate, are those that were in effect when the booking was confirmed.

Everything was great, the communication, the planning. All information was clear from the beginning. I really enjoyed Sharessa and her team. Very nice people.

This was a marvelous transaction. Communication was good throughout. The transporter did an excellent job taking care of our tiny (1.4 pounds) Yorkie puppy. And considering the distance of the transport, the price was quite fair and appropriate. A great service; great people. 5 Stars, all the way.
