Loyal Pawrenting - Certified Professional Dog Trainer - Smyrna, GA

Member since Mar 2026

Hi, I’m Fina Garcia—a certified professional dog trainer (CPDT-KA), Licensed Family Dog Mediator, ABK Informed Pet Professional, and the heart behind Loyal Pawrenting. My mission is to help families build lasting, compassionate relationships with their dogs through science-backed, relationship-centered training rooted in empathy, trust, and connection.

I’ve always believed that dogs aren’t just pets—they’re sentient beings, each with their own unique needs, histories, and personalities. What makes me tick is seeing that “aha!” moment when a family starts to truly understand their dog, not just as a problem to be fixed, but as a partner to grow with. I use the L.E.G.S. framework (Learning, Environment, Genetics, and Self) to look at the whole dog, not just the behavior. My approach is gentle, collaborative, and trauma-informed, integrating methods from therapeutic parenting, enrichment-based learning, and free-choice exercises like ACE Free Work.

Before becoming a dog trainer, I spent nearly a decade as a multimedia instructional designer. That background allows me to break down complex behavior concepts into easy-to-follow, family-friendly plans—whether raising a new puppy, navigating life with a sensitive rescue, or simply wanting a stronger bond with your best friend.

I’ve volunteered at my local shelter since 2019, working closely with foster parents, long-stay dogs, and behavior teams. I’ve also walked this path personally, raising two dogs of my own—Coco and Riley—who continue to teach me new lessons every day.

At Loyal Pawrenting, I offer more than training—I offer guidance, advocacy, and a safe space to learn alongside your dog. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed or simply want to do better by your pup, I'm here to walk with you. Let’s create something meaningful, one paw at a time.

Recommended Certifications for Dog Trainers

When choosing a dog trainer, professional certifications are a strong indicator of expertise, experience, and commitment to ethical, science-based methods. Widely recognized credentials include the CPDT-KA or CPDT-KSA from the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers, which demonstrate mastery of modern training techniques, canine behavior, and learning theory. The KPA-CTP (Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner) highlights trainers skilled in positive reinforcement and clicker training, while the IAABC Certified Dog Trainer credential, recognized internationally, signals advanced knowledge in behavior modification and problem-solving. Membership or certification through the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT) further reflects ongoing education and adherence to ethical standards. Many trainers also pursue specialty certifications in areas such as aggression management, behavior modification, or puppy development to address specific challenges.

For pet parents, choosing a certified trainer like Fina GarciaBlanco, ensures that your dog’s training is grounded in science, safety, and compassion. Asking about a trainer’s credentials is one of the best ways to make a confident, informed choice.
