Maria G Huntoon Canine Consulting Services - Pooler, GA
As a dedicated pet behavior expert with over 20 years of hands-on experience, I am passionate about fostering harmony and understanding between you and your beloved four-legged friend. My holistic approach goes beyond traditional obedience training, focusing instead on building life skills and enhancing the relationship between you and your pet. With certifications like Certified Professional Canine Nutritionist (CPCN) and Certified Behavior Consultant Canine-Knowledge Assessed (CBCC-KA), I am well-equipped to address a range of behavioral issues, from anxiety and reactivity to fear and lack of confidence, ensuring your pet feels secure and balanced.
I specialize in both dog and cat behavior modification and offer personalized guidance tailored to the unique needs of each pet. My extensive training repertoire includes techniques with back-clip and front-clip harnesses, clickers, and more, all designed to create a positive learning environment. I am also a proud member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT), which underscores my commitment to providing the highest standard of care and expertise. Whether you're dealing with a hyperactive pup or a feline friend needing a bit more structure, my professional services are designed to help you and your pet thrive together.
In addition to in-person consultations, I offer online sessions to accommodate your busy schedule and ensure that you receive support whenever you need it. If you're looking to improve your dog's diet for optimal health, I can provide guidance on transitioning to a fresh food diet, addressing allergies, or managing weight and energy levels. With a business license and full insurance, I am a trustworthy partner in your pet's journey to a happier, healthier life. Ready to get started? Book me through Petworks today!

During the initial session, performed either in your home or online, we will discuss the driving forces behind your dog's behavior and go over important methods to address these concerns at their root. Since each dog and human is different, what we discuss and demonstrate is individualized to your specific needs - i.e. basic puppy skills, obedience, separation anxiety, reactivity/aggression, fear, etc.
In follow up sessions, we will continue to apply the methods and progress the skills addressed in our initial session. We will also begin adding additional skills or behaviors after the foundational skills have been solidly set. This may include meeting outside of the home (i.e. at a park, downtown, etc.) as needed for the lesson. Follow up sessions usually last about 1 hour, depending on questions and the lessons being addressed.
