Vick's Pet Boarding and Dog Sitting - Waterbury, CT
I've been a dog owner and dog lover my entire life. The average dog that comes to me for boarding or sitting requires a lot of love and attention to overcome the insecurity of being away from their owner. One reason all the pets I board love it here is because they KNOW they are loved and cared for from the moment they cross the threshold. Additionally, since I have my own dogs, they have a built in pack to play with, explore and make them feel at home.
The house is dog-friendly with a huge fenced yard from which there’s no escape. They are fed morning and evening, with the occasional snacks. There are as many bathroom breaks as they require and as much playtime as suits them. They are with me as much as they want throughout the day and are vigilantly supervised. I keep multiple water bowls both inside and out, as well as nylabones, toys and doggie beds. They are allowed everywhere in home and, if a dog is insecure and wants to sleep on the bed with me at night, I’m more than happy to oblige.
I have extensive experience with dogs of every size and multiple breeds and at every stage of their lives. Consequently, I keep a watchful eye on every dog’s health and well-being, including, commonly, allergies (runny eyes, scratching their paws or ears, etc.) If I notice such a problem, with the parents permission, I'll bathe them with allergy shampoo or flea baths. And if there is something I think may help the dog’s parents to better care for their babies, I’m happy to share with them what I’ve learned through decades of experience.
Pet sitting is not just a job for me. It really is a sacred trust that I take very seriously.
