True Horse Bodywork - Loma Rica, CA

Member since Dec 2020

I am a certified equine bodywork practitioner, specializing in deep tissue massage for an overall decrease of tension or pain. I work on performance horses, pasture pets, horses recovering from trauma or injury, and geriatrics, tailoring each session the the specific needs of the equine. My practice is not limited to horses however, I do work on all equines, and have adapted my massage to work on other companion animals, including but not limited to dogs, miniature donkeys, or goats!
I'm in the process of achieving kinesiology taping certification, and will offer that service soon.

How did you hone your craft?

Listen to the animals, always. They are the best teachers.

What tip would you give pet parents for working with animals that you've learned as a pro?

Pay attention to your animal's behavior so you can establish a "normal," that way, when something seems off, you can catch it ASAP. Also give them as much exercise and free roaming time as possible. Most horses I see need way more exercise, even if they live in a pasture. If it's a small pasture or if they're in a small herd or by themselves, get creative and do whatever you can to encourage more movement!

What is one thing you want pet parents to know about you? It can be whatev-fur you'd like!

Mini donkeys are my favorite animal!
