How did you hone your craft?
I honed my craft through a combination of formal education and ongoing practice. I have a BS in Graphic Design, which included drawing and painting classes that built a strong foundation. Since then, I’ve taken many additional art classes outside of college and consistently practiced to refine my skills—especially in watercolor and acrylic painting. Every piece I create helps me grow and improve.
What tip would you give pet parents for working with animals that you've learned as a pro?
Though I paint from photos, I’ve learned that the best portraits come from photos that truly capture your pet’s unique spirit and personality. So, my tip for pet parents is to be patient and take lots of natural, relaxed photos of your pet—catch them during their happy or calm moments. Multiple angles and expressions help me bring out their true character in the portrait.
What is one thing you want pet parents to know about you? It can be whatev-fur you'd like!
One thing I want pet parents to know about me is that pets aren’t just animals—they’re family. I’m blessed to have three grand pups, a grand cat, my trusty calico studio sidekick, and a sun conure parrot who keeps me company while I paint. I pour love into every portrait because I understand the deep bond you share. Plus, I donate a portion of every pet portrait sale to no-kill animal shelters—helping animals find their forever homes.
